The 2026 TDI Challenge is open to 14–19-year-olds to submit innovative product ideas via a 2-minute video. Coursework or original concepts are welcome; attendance implies consent to promotional photography and filming.

Complete the entry form, this will require you to: a. Create a short 3-minute video demonstrating how and why your project/invention was made, the inspiration behind it, why it is innovative and will benefit users.

Clear inspiration and understanding of the product idea.
Identification of whether it’s a new concept or an improvement on existing products.
Clear definition of the target audience and market need.
Innovation
Uniqueness and originality of the ida.
Evidence that it fills a gap in the market.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills.
Development
A well-documented design and development process. Effective use of tools and time management.
Consideration of materials, technologies, and manufacturing methods.
Evidence of research, testing, and feedback used to refine the design.
Solution
Commercial awareness including cost and sales potential.
Understanding of where and how the product could be sold.
Consideration of future improvements of next steps.
